As a future Maths teacher with the initial purpose of enrolling in e-Learning subject to acquire the essential knowledge and skills to incorporate technology into my teaching practices in order to make my lessons as effective as possible, I decided to design a course related to Mathematics, and in doing so I planned to teach how to draw different triangles in a popular Software program used mainly in Geometry, but also in Calculus and Algebra called Geometer’s Sketchpad.
In this course I will teach students how to draw a triangle, an Isosceles Triangle, an Equilateral Triangle and a Right-angled Triangle using the tools in the program. I am currently at the stage of producing the course using Microsoft PowerPoint, Jing, Audio Record Edit Toolbox Pro to capture images and screen casting. I might want to use some features of the program Adobe Captivate to simulate the software, but first I need to familiarize myself with the program. The story boarding helped me a lot to plan the sequence of the slides in my lesson; it saved my time, and especially as a visual person it helped me to explore my ideas and my lesson visually to identify flaws and issues within the initial plan.

If I were to be an e-Learning coordinator of an organisation, I would choose a combination of LCMS and LMS as the main method of delivery of the online courses as they both have unique strengths that can complement each other. I believe that integration of the multi-user authoring features of the LCMS (learning content management system) with the delivery and reporting features of the LMS (learning management system) would provide organizations with the powerful tools to ensure the best delivery of their learning initiatives. While LCMS ensures creation, modification, management and re-usability of the content for a wide range of learning, LMS provides an effective way to keep track of the learners’ skills and competencies. This offers benefits for the institutions which surpass the strengths each system has to provide separately.
